Medicine Cards

The easiest way to explain exactly what medicine cards are and what they do is first understanding the basics of divination and the use of tarot cards. Divination is the art of predicting the future through the use of various tools, one of which is tarot cards. In my opinion, divination is not a learned art. You either have it or you don’t. You can learn the concepts of divination and utilize these concepts, but it can be difficult or entirely inaccurate if you are not so gifted in this area of talent.

Tarot cards have been used for many centuries to help fortune tellers predict the future of the quearant in exchange for a fee, which varies depending upon the fortune teller. The most common spread takes 10 cards, with each card having a specific meaning based on its placement and the cards surrounding it. General overviews of what to expect and when to expect it as well as answers to a wide variety of questions can be determined through the use of tarot cards.

Medicine cards are essentially Native American tarot. Each card represents an animal and each animal has a specific message that is determined by its placement in the spread as well as the cards surrounding it. Medicine cards target the most prominent issues in the quearant’s life and bring those issues to light. The Native Americans believe that there are many life lessons we must complete as we continue on the Red Road towards whatever awaits us on the other side.

Through the month of August, all medicine card readings are $25, a savings of $40 off the regular price of a reading.

You Are Loved

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/colin-israel/a-letter-to-my-uncle-who_b_7798962.html

I wish this was around when I was told, multiple times, that I was loved even if my “choice” was not accepted or that my “choice” would be tolerated.

“To hear you say you love me and yet disagree with that is confusing. In fact, as frustrating as it may be to hear, to say as much is discriminatory. That’s not an accusation, it’s a clear-cut fact. You can’t say you love someone (which assumes you want the best for them) and then disagree with a positive movement for their civil rights.”

Whoever you are, wherever you are, somebody does accept you wholly for who you are. You are not alone.

You are the secret

Good brief little blog post I happened upon just now.

Mystical Journey

holding_a_key_by_johnkyo-d39g8qr

You want to know a secret? You have all the answers to your life. You can sit in silence and speak to your higher self asking for guidance. I get folks calling, texting, and emailing me for answers to what is already fully available in them. I am not giving them anything they don’t already know. Sometimes people just want permission from another to go through a change. At other times the crude reality of difficult decisions is too much to handle alone. BUT…but...YOU hold all the answers to your present situation. You get to mold your future.

We go to counselors, therapists, fortune tellers, religious leaders, gurus, and any one out there with a spec of hope. We give another person the right to tell us what we need to do. We give them our power while diminishing our own guidance. YOU HOLD THE SECRET TO YOUR…

Society of Victims

image

The above graphic made its way to my newsfeed this evening. We wear these shirts and talk about bullying to teach these kids TO stand up for themselves. We are teaching them they are not alone. Suicide is not the answer for bullying. If they cannot stand up for themselves without repercussions, they will know they have people they can talk to. No matter who the bully may be, sometimes they can’t stand up for themselves. Bullies aren’t just other kids. Bullies are parents, teachers, and other “people of power”. If these kids cannot turn to someone else for help, then we will continue to see many more young lives lost to suicide. They are not being taught to be a victim. They are being taught they are not alone. For years, I contemplated (and later attempted) suicide. I had no one to go to and nowhere to turn. I will not sit idly by while another child contemplates suicide because they feel they have nowhere to turn to and no one to listen to their story. If you are contemplating suicide, talk to me. Send me an email. Talk to a trusted friend, family member, or counselor. I am here to tell you right now, it gets easier. It doesn’t always get better immediately, but it gets so much easier and you come to a point in your life where you realize just how great things are going and going to be – all because you are alive today.
